Barkha Fatnani
Barkha Fatnani is a performer who has been in the field of Theatre for adults and Theatre for Young audience (TYA) since 5 years and has done performances in several plays like 'Kyun Kyun Ladki' as Moyna, 'Gulabo aur Parizad' as Munni, 'Taoos Chaman Ki Myna' as Lady Begum, 'Catch That Crocodile' as Meena, 'Ripples' as Bhadra and a few more productions with Gillo Repertory Theatre, The Blind and The Elephant and Preksha Theatre. She has also been a dancer with Zenith Dance Company and has travelled across the country with all the performances, plays as well as dance. Recently, she performed in a play 'Chidiya Udd!' - a Gillo production, which was mentored by Valeria Frabetti and Roberto Frabetti of La Baracca theatre company in Bologna, Italy. This play is a dance theatre piece specifically designed for children between the age group 1 year to 3 years old. The play also premiered in the La Baracca theatre festival 'Visioni 2018', in February, in Bologna, Italy. She has travelled with the play across India in various theatre festivals for children like the Ranga Shankara theatre festival for toddlers, the Hyderabad Children's theatre fest in Hyderabad and Vizag and the Ranga Shankara Theatre festival for children in Ahmedabad.
She was also invited for a month long storytelling residency in June, 2018 hosted in South Korea by The Mindeulle Theatre Company. The residency concluded with the participants performing in Pumashi Theatre festival hosted by the Mindeulle Theatre village in Hwaseong and The Assitej International Theatre festival in Seoul hosted by the Assitej Korea. She has toured across Maharshtra and Karnataka with Gillo Repertory Theatre performing for more than 6000 children.Â
She has been selected for the La Baracca Theatre festival 'Visioni 2019' as an individual artist for her performance 'Sound Symphony', which will be held in 2019 from 22nd February till the 3rd of March in Bologna, Italy.
She is also a flautist and has been learning flute since 5 years from Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasiya Institute.
